Head of Financial Institutions Group
John Gibbons is Head of the Financial Institutions Group at Fiserv, Inc. In his role, he is responsible for the strategic direction of the group, with a focus on enabling the success of Fiserv financial institution and fintech clients through the development and delivery of innovative card payment, debit network, digital payment, bill payment, data aggregation, digital banking and account processing solutions.
Gibbons joined the company in December 2018, most recently serving as Co-Head of the Financial Institutions Group. Previously, he was Head of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, where Fiserv has operations in 13 countries and provides issuing, payments software, merchant acquiring and processing services to financial institutions, fintechs, enterprise and small- and medium-sized businesses.
Before joining Fiserv, John led Global Transaction Banking at Deutsche Bank. Prior to that, he was at JPMorgan Chase & Co., serving as Regional Executive for EMEA and as JPMorgan’s Global Head of Banks and Broker Dealers for Treasury Services. Earlier in his career, Gibbons held leadership positions at global financial institutions in London, Amsterdam and New York.
Gibbons is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and is a dual citizen of both the United States and the U.K.
