Carla Harris

Senior Client Advisor, Morgan Stanley

Carla Harris is Vice Chairman, Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley. She is responsible for increasing client connectivity and penetration to enhance revenue generation across the firm.

Previously, Harris was a senior member of the equity syndicate desk and executed initial public offerings for some of America’s most high-profile companies, as well as the $3.2 billion transaction for Immunex Corporation, one of the largest biotechnology common stock transactions in U.S. history.

Harris has been honored by Fortune Magazine, American Banker (formerly U.S. Banker), Black Enterprise, Essence Magazine and Ebony on their lists of the most influential executives in business and finance. She is a former chair of the National Women’s Business Council.

She is the author of three acclaimed books, sharing tools and advice for success in life and business. And in her other life, Harris is an accomplished singer, recording four gospel albums and performing to sellout crowds at Carnegie Hall and the Apollo Theatre.

Harris received an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB in economics from Harvard University, as well as several honorary doctorates. Currently, Harris sits on the boards of Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO), A Better Chance, Inc., the Walmart Corporation, Cummins, MetLife and The Sesame Workshop.
