Jess Sims is an educator, fitness instructor and broadcaster based in New York City. She is well-known to ESPN viewers as a lead college basketball reporter and as a reporter for the sports network’s “College GameDay” program. She also serves as a correspondent for ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Sims’ education career started with Teach for America in Houston, TX, and she eventually served as a principal at Harlem Village Academies in New York. But in 2016, Sims left education to pursue her first love: fitness. She held the title of team captain across three sports in high school and was the captain of her collegiate basketball team for three years. She started to teach boxing and high-intensity interval training at popular boutique studios in New York City, and gained a following as she was featured in broadcast appearances, print and digital publications and brand partnerships.
Sims joined the Peloton family in 2018 as a Tread instructor, teaching running, walking, bootcamp, strength and stretching classes to millions of subscribers worldwide. She also launched Peloton content for kids five and older, blending her passions for health, wellness and education.
Sims holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and Hispanic studies from Trinity College-Hartford, and a master’s in education from the University of St. Thomas (TX).
